The Classic Symposium will be held for the 12th time on March 29, 2025. The Helsinki Music Hall will host some of the most prominent speakers in the Symposium’s history. HSS is the main organiser of the event. This year’s theme “Timeless Winds – Classic Yachting Around the Globe” celebrates the 2024 milestone in the ssailing history of the club – the participation of two boats, Galiana WithSecure and Spirit of Helsinki, in the Ocean Globe Race under the HSS flag.

Robin Knox-Johnston, named the world’s most famous sailor, will talk about his life’s work which began with the world’s first non-stop solo circumnavigation in 1968-1969. Marie Tabarly, skipper of line honour winner Pen Duick VI of the last Ocean Globe Race, and competitor to the HSS contestants, will speak about sailing as a life project and personal development. Professor Claes Hultling will discuss how to compete and cruise with a spinal cord injury. In total, we have a fantastic roster of 15 speakers and one choir!

Most tickets have already been sold by the turn of the year. The event is open to all and will have strong representation from HSS. Last year’s event was attended by over a hundred members. Welcome to meet sailing friends from near and far!
