HSS Liuska 2.0 property development survey

Southern and Northern Uunisaari, Liuskasaari, Liuskaluoto, and Sirpalesaari are part of the Merisatama islands, for which a new building plan was approved by the City of Helsinki in June 2022. The plan change allows for the expansion of HSS’s current buildings and the construction of entirely new properties. By embracing the opportunities offered by the plan change, we can influence the attractiveness of the club and its ability to serve our members better and attract new sailors to join us.

With this in mind, the Liuska 2.0 project has been established. Its purpose is to explore what the club could develop on the island, who it is for, why, how, and when. In the first phase of the project, we will map out members’ thoughts regarding the development of the club’s member services and facilities and determine the potential use and concept for each building enabled by the plan change. Once we have gathered your and other members’ views and needs, the planning group will create an overall picture of what HSS should aim for in long-term property development. When the vision becomes clearer, we will decide together under what conditions, in what order, and on what timetable we want and can build new facilities on our island.

Through this survey, we aim to understand our members’ needs, desires, and willingness to contribute to the new building projects enabled by the new plan. The survey consists of 23 questions, but you do not need to answer all of them. Responding to the survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes. We ask for your patience and a moment of reflection. This matter is important and shared among us. If you run out of time, you can continue later. The survey can be completed until October 1, 2023. The questions are in Finnish, but you can respond in Finnish, Swedish, or English.

Go ahead and take the survey. Thank you for your time!
