XVIII International Helsinki Downtown Sailing Regatta held early July 2026

The XVIII International Helsinki Downtown Regatta was sailed during 2nd and 5th July, 2026

The regatta gathered again almost 130 optimist and ILCA sailors from 8 different countries at Liuskasaari. The history of the regatta you can read at: https://helsinkisailing.com/kilpai…/downtown-sailing-week/

Initially four racing days were planned but only three completed in rainy, windy but also low wind weather, due to Saturday’s non-windy but sunny conditions that lead to AP+A after several AP + number pennant. On Sunday the races started one hour earlier to manage planned daily starts.

The event was the third Baltic Sea Trophy (BST) event and after the week in Helsinki, the sailor caravan was heading to Estonia. This year was the first time four events were held as part of the BST trophy.

Winner of the Downtown Sailing Regatta was this year again Otto Vilnis RENESLĀCIS from Latvia who also has good position to take total BST trophy. The best sailors were:
