I’ve been sailing for 9 years. I started my career sailing in the Optimist which I sailed for four years. In 2020 I started sailing the Ilca in which I’ve won the Ilca 4 U-15 nationals and came 2nd in the 2024 Ilca 6 nationals.
I’ve been coaching as an assistant coach at HSS. I’m relatively new to coaching as I started in 2024 with the Ilca beginner group. Since then I’ve been coaching the Ilcas and different optimist groups. I look forward to coaching at HSS and being able to share my knowledge of the sport.

Hi! I’m Filippa, an international ILCA 6 sailor aiming for the Olympic pathway. I started my sailing career at one of HSS’s summer camps in 2018 and instantly fell in love with the sport. Over the years I’ve developed a strong passion for high-performance sailing. Before moving to ILCA, I competed in Zoom8.
I started out as an assistant coach at HSS. In 2023, I was given the opportunity to help build up the junior program at EMK. During my coaching career I have coached a wide range of sailors, including Optimist beginners, Cadets, Zoom8 and ILCA 4 sailors. This experience allowes me to work with different ages and levels, from grassroots sailing to more performance-focused classes.
Having grown up in competitive sailing myself, I understand the importance of balancing structure and fun. I aim to support each sailor’s individual development while keeping the joy of the sport at the centre. I coach in Swedish, Finnish and English.
Fun fact: I never competed in Optimist-and I really don’t like whipped cream:)
