New HSS Junior Head Coach is Lucas Swan

HSS Juniors has nominated Lucas Swan as our new Junior Head Coach. Nicolas Vidal finishes his final season in October as he returns to Argentina after three highly successful seasons at HSS, to rejoin his family and pursue new challenges. We thank Nico for everything he has done for HSS Juniors and wish him all the best!

We are very excited to welcome Lucas Swan to continue the high standard of junior coaching at HSS. Before joining HSS Lucas has coached ILCA in Viana Sailing in Portugal and served as Junior Head Coach in Malta. Lucas is himself an achieved junior sailor as a Brazil national champion and 3 times team race national champion in Optimist. In ILCA Youth Worlds he achieved Gold Fleet. He has also raced with accolades in Snipe, J24 and South American ORC and has a keen eye for classic yachts.

Here are a few words from Lucas himself:

“Hello everyone, my name is Lucas Swan, I will be your new Junior Head Coach for the HSS. I know that at this moment everyone is feeling a bit sad about Nico going away, but I hope I can fulfill that with some excitement. I’ve been sailing for my entire life, and absolutely LOVE the sport, through all of this trajectory I met people from all around the globe and had wonderful experiences. Now that I am going to Finland, I can’t wait to create some more. We can soon start this new journey together :)”

Warm welcome Lucas!
