XVI Downtown Sailing Week – Racing under way with qualifications

The XVI International Helsinki Downtown Regatta started in Liuskasaari with two days of qualifications for the Optimist fleet.

The conditions in Helsinki have been dynamic with light to moderate winds. After six races Niko Noponen (FIN 1221) leads the Optimist class with Robert Matt (EST 374) in second place and Murray Duthie (AUS 1516) third. We’re looking forward to the final series and tight races in the Gold and Silver and Bronze fleets, as well as the ILCA class.

This year over 180 sailors are taking part in the regatta in Optimist and ILCA classes.
