Diverse yacht club

Helsingfors Segelsällskap HSS is a full-service yacht club offering options to both racing and cruising sailors alike. HSS is 130 years of Finnish sailing history, with over a thousand members and more than three hundred boats. Facilities include a guest marina, petrol station, and a kiosk. The club restaurant offers a terrace with a view of the open sea.

HSS is one of Finland’s oldest and fourth-largest sailing club. Established in 1893 to provide the growing Swedish-speaking middle class in the city with the opportunity to pursue a previously perceived elitist sport. Today, HSS is an international community where activities and coaching are conducted in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

HSS is one of the country’s leading junior clubs, with children and young people participating in HSS’s extensive coaching program. The club also hosts Finland’s most extensive sailing center for adults who want to sail and practice without owning a boat. The center offers various training and practice boats as well as windsurfing equipment. The club provides high-quality education for beginners as well as experienced sailors. The harbor also houses the largest fleet of classic boats in the Nordic countries.

Members have access to club islands in the Andö in the Inkoo archipelago and Getören in the Porvoo archipelago.
