DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION AT HSS

HSS strives to provide a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We believe that a tolerant and diverse community is the basis of all our activities. You can find information about responsible club activities and also how to confidentially point out shortcomings on this page.

Mission Statement:

HSS seeks to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all, regardless of race, gender, identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background or any other defining characteristic. We believe that a welcoming and diverse community is the necessary basis to all our activities and our growth as sailors. In addition, we strive to establish and maintain an inclusive culture that fosters equitable participation for all persons over the age of 15 and career opportunities for coaches and administrators from diverse backgrounds.

Policy:

Discrimination, sexism or harassment of any kind or intolerance of any level has no place within HSS, whether at sea, in the locker rooms or in any activities where we meet our fellow sailors. Behaving in a way that is not in accordance with these basic values can lead to a warning issued by the board of the club or dismissal from the club.

All discussions are confidential. According to your wishes, the case will be handled by the HSS board, or you can discuss the matter confidentially without further action if you wish.
