This year the Radial Youth worlds were held in Kiel, a familiar venue for our team. Two years prior, the Laser 4.7 youth worlds were held there as well, in which HSS participated.

The weather in Kiel wasn’t in favor of our team.  Many of the races were sailed between moderate to heavy winds, which partially prevented us from performing our best. We were severely lacking practice in this department and it obviously negatively affected our results.

Even though the results weren’t what we were looking for, we still had a very educational trip. We got a lot of valuable experience in boat handling and tactics in stronger winds – which we haven’t had in Finland almost at all this year.
